
Imphal, Nov 24: Under the ongoing Op Sadbhavana initiative, a team of students and teachers from Don Bosco College, Maram, Manipur, embarked on an educational and cultural visit to Assam on November 22, 2025. The delegation, known as the Seemadarshan Team, explored Nameri National Park and Tiger Reserve, visited the Tezpur District Museum, and experienced the bustling Tezpur Market.
The visit aimed to provide students with firsthand exposure to the region’s rich ecological diversity, historical heritage, and vibrant cultural life. At Nameri National Park, participants observed wildlife, studied the park’s conservation practices, and learned about the local ecosystem, including flora and fauna unique to the area. The Tiger Reserve offered insights into tiger conservation efforts, anti-poaching measures, and the importance of preserving biodiversity.
At the Tezpur District Museum, students explored exhibits highlighting Assam’s history, traditional art, and cultural heritage. They gained a deeper understanding of the region’s contributions to literature, folklore, and historical developments, linking classroom knowledge to real-world experiences.
The visit to Tezpur Market provided students with an opportunity to engage with local communities, observe traditional crafts, and experience Assam’s culinary and artisanal culture.
