Dr Keneilhoulie Medom, Anaesthesiologist and Managing Director, Kohimas Hospital, visited the National Integration and Educational Development Organisation (NIEDO) Centre on 15 December 2025 and conducted an interactive career guidance and motivational session for students preparing for NEET and other national-level competitive examinations.
The interaction was organised as part of NIEDO’s continuing efforts to expose students to experienced professionals and credible role models from medical fields. The session aimed to motivate students, provide clarity on medical career pathways and guide aspirants in developing a disciplined and structured approach towards competitive examinations.
During the session, Dr Medom shared insights from his academic journey and professional experience in medicine, emphasising the importance of discipline, consistency, conceptual clarity and time management in achieving success in competitive examinations. He explained the critical role of anaesthesiology in modern healthcare and highlighted how teamwork, precision and ethical responsibility form the foundation of effective medical practice.
Dr Medom provided practical guidance on NEET preparation, including formulation of realistic study plans, effective revision techniques, stress management and maintaining mental composure during examinations. He encouraged students to focus on strong fundamentals, avoid distractions and remain resilient in the face of academic pressure.
Drawing upon his experience as both a healthcare professional and hospital administrator, Dr Medom urged students to view medicine as a service-oriented profession, stressing the values of humility, compassion and lifelong learning. He motivated students to pursue excellence through sustained effort and self-belief rather than shortcuts.
The programme concluded with an interactive question&answer session, during which students actively engaged with the speaker on topics related to exam strategy, subject prioritisation and long-term career planning in the medical field. The interaction proved to be highly informative and motivating.
The visit reinforced NIEDO’s commitment to holistic education, character building and preparing students to confidently face national-level competitive challenges through structured mentoring and exposure to accomplished professionals.
