Assam Rifles leads Swachhata drive in Nagaland
Dimapur, Sep 27: Demonstrating its continued commitment to nation-building beyond security duties, the Assam Rifles observed the nationwide ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign under the theme ‘Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath’ across multiple locations in Nagaland.
The cleanliness drive was carried out in Dimapur, Chumoukedima, Kohima, Peren, and Wokha districts, as well as at several forward areas including Bhandari, Pfutsero, Chieswema, Heninkunglwa, and Pedi. Despite the ongoing monsoon season, the initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from local youth volunteers who actively joined hands with Assam Rifles personnel, reflecting a strong spirit of civic responsibility and community cooperation.
The drive focused on cleaning public spaces, roads, and community areas to promote hygiene, environmental awareness, and public participation in the Swachh Bharat Mission. Soldiers and civilians worked together, sending a powerful message about the importance of collective action in building a cleaner and healthier society.
The Assam Rifles has consistently undertaken such initiatives, emphasizing its role as the “Sentinels of the North East” not only in maintaining peace and security but also in contributing to social welfare and development. Through this campaign, the force once again reaffirmed its dedication to fostering community engagement and supporting the vision of a “Swachh Bharat” across the region.
