Srinagar, March 25: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg on Wednesday urged people not to panic amid circulating rumours, saying the government is closely monitoring essential supplies and the overall situation.

He said the Prime Minister and the government are continuously addressing the country, while statements are also being issued by the administration to keep the public informed.
“There is no need for any kind of panic. Stocks of essential commodities are being monitored regularly and their adequacy is being ensured along with proper distribution,” Garg told reporters.
He said that any important information would be communicated officially by the government and cautioned against spreading rumours.
“There are strict instructions from the government, and action will be taken against those involved in spreading misinformation,” he said, urging people to rely only on official government handles for updates.
On security, Garg said the situation remains unchanged and is under constant review.
“There is a continuous review of the security scenario. Joint assessments are being carried out by the district administration and police,” he said.
Referring to tourism, the Divisional Commissioner said destinations across Kashmir are being opened in a phased manner and efforts are being made to ensure a smooth season.
He noted that tourist footfall has increased, especially after the opening of the Tulip Garden, which is witnessing large crowds daily.
