
Educational Trust Kashmir (ETK) on Tuesday organised a one-day workshop on Career Counselling and Skill Awareness, aimed at empowering educators to guide students towards informed career choices and practical skill development.
Principals and nominated teachers from 14 High and Middle Schools under the ETK network participated in the event, which focused on strengthening support systems for students of Imamia Public Schools.
The workshop began with a welcome address by ETK President Akhter Ali Gazi, who emphasized aligning educational strategies with student aspirations and societal needs. Mr. Tanweer-ul-Sadiqain, Chairman Academic Council, outlined the objectives of the workshop and called it a long-awaited initiative.
In the first session, Mr. Hakim Ilyas Hussain delivered a lecture on Skill Development, urging educators to help students acquire life-ready, practical competencies.
The second session, led by Prof. Mohd Ayub Shah from the University of Kashmir, focused on Career Counselling. He highlighted career planning, guidance strategies, and the critical role of teachers in shaping students' futures.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Syed Abid Gowhar, General Secretary ETK, who acknowledged the contributions of speakers and participants in making the event impactful.
