
Himalayan Brigade under the aegis of Dagger Division organised an Ex Servicemen Rally at Baramulla. The event saw participation of over 450 Ex Servicemen, Veer Naris and their dependants from Baramulla, Pattan, Uri, Tangmarg, Rafiabad, Boniyar, Rohama and Sopore tehsils of Baramulla district.
General Officer Commanding Dagger Division, Major General Manoj Joshi, VSM, attended the rally as Chief Guest along with senior military officers and civil dignitaries.
The programme began with cultural performances by Strings of Baramulla. This was followed by awareness talks from veteran welfare agencies including ECHS, DRZ North and Zila Sainik Board.
The speakers highlighted welfare schemes and benefits available for Ex Servicemen, Veer Naris and their dependants.
Veer Naris, Veer Matas and Gallantry Awardees were felicitated in recognition of their sacrifices and contribution to national security. Officials assured veterans that grievances related to pension, documentation and property disputes would be addressed through dedicated grievance redressal mechanisms.
Various banks and small scale recruiting firms set up stalls to brief veterans about financial schemes, policies and employment opportunities.
The interaction provided a platform for veterans to share experiences and raise concerns directly with civil and military authorities, strengthening coordination between the veterans fraternity, serving personnel and local administration.
The rally concluded with a community lunch, reinforcing the spirit of brotherhood and reaffirming the commitment of the Indian Army and civil administration towards the welfare of veterans and Veer Naris.
