Srinagar, June 14: A thought-provoking conversation titled “Inside the Mind: A Conversation on Mental Health, Healing & Psychiatry” featured Consultant Psychiatrist Dr. Malik Insha Qayoom, focusing on growing concerns around mental health, emotional well-being, and the importance of timely psychiatric care.

The discussion highlighted the rising prevalence of stress, anxiety, depression, and other psychological disorders in contemporary society, particularly among youth. Dr. Qayoom emphasized that mental health is as critical as physical health and should be addressed without stigma or hesitation.
She explained that early identification of symptoms, open communication, and professional intervention can significantly improve recovery outcomes. she also stressed the need for families and communities to create supportive environments where individuals feel safe to seek help.
The session underlined the importance of awareness initiatives and collaborative healthcare efforts involving medical professionals, institutions, and civil society groups.
Dr Malik Insha reiterated that reducing stigma remains one of the biggest challenges in mental healthcare, and consistent outreach, education, and accessible services are key to building a mentally healthier society.
