A furniture manufacturing company and a commercial building were damaged in separate overnight fire incidents in Srinagar, officials said.
The Fire and Emergency service officials said that fire broke out around 11.10 pm last night in Essque Furniture Works at the industrial estate of Bagh-e-Ali Mardan Khan in Nowshar area of Srinagar causing extensive damage to the property.
They said as soon as the fire call was received, several fire tenders were rushed to the spot from the city centre stations to douse the leaping flames.
No one was injured in the incident, they said adding the cause of the fire is being ascertained.
A commercial building was also gutted in the overnight fire incident at Fruit Mandi while a four storey residential house also suffered extensive damage in the fire incident at Firdous Abad Batamaloo in Srinagar.
The cause of the fire at both the places is being ascertained, they said.
