Srinagar, Feb 4: A fire broke out in two adjoining residential houses in the Padshahi Bagh area on the outskirts of Srinagar on Wednesday, damaging the attic portions of both structures, officials said.

The blaze affected the GCI-sheeted attic sections of two three-storeyed pucca houses and was contained before it could spread further. Fire and Emergency Services teams rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control, limiting the damage to the upper portions.
Senior fire service officers supervised the operation. No injuries or loss of life were reported. Authorities said the cause of the fire is being investigated.
