
A five-day workshop on Standardization of Question Paper Templates and Implementation of the Holistic Progress Card (HPC) at the Secondary Stage was formally inaugurated today with the objective of strengthening assessment reforms in alignment with the evolving pedagogical and evaluation framework. The workshop is being conducted under the aegis of PARAKH, NCERT New Delhi. It aims to provide hands-on orientation to participants on designing standardized, competency-based question papers and on the practical implementation of the Holistic Progress Card at the secondary stage. Interactive sessions, deliberations, and practical exercises have been planned over the five days to ensure meaningful engagement and effective outcomes.
Speaking on the inaugural function Prof Indrani Bhaduri (Head & CEO, PARAKH, New Delhi), the chief guest, reiterated the need for capacity building of educators and academic functionaries to implement assessment reforms effectively. She provided an in-depth introduction of the concept of 3600and holistic assessment while speaking at length about the equivalence of boards.
Naseer Ahmad Wani, JKAS (Director School Education Kashmir), the guest of honour, emphasized the role of the Holistic Progress Card as a transformative tool that reflects the multidimensional growth of learners and aligns with contemporary educational priorities, especially NEP 2020.
Dr. Sanjeev Goswami (Director Academics, JKBOSE) attended the workshop via Online mode and highlighted the significance of standardized question paper templates and the Holistic Progress Card in ensuring transparency, uniformity, and a learner-centric approach to assessment and underlined the pivotal role of such activities in strengthening assessment practices and improving learning outcomes across secondary schools of JKUT as outlined in NEP 2020. Director Academics emphasized that under the dynamic leadership of Mr. Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, Secretary, JKBoSE, who has been working tirelessly to adopt innovative assessment strategies in alignment with NEP 2020.
The guests were formally welcomed by Dr. Arif Jan (Deputy Director Academics, JKBOSE), who emphasizes the shift from rote-based evaluation to a more comprehensive assessment of learners’ cognitive, social, and emotional development.
The inaugural programme concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Dr Aliya Qayoom (Assistant Director Academics, JKBOSE), who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, resource persons from PARAKH, NCERT, New Delhi, and participants for their valuable presence and cooperation, and conveyed optimism about the successful conduct of the workshop.
