
Ganderbal, July 31: Five people from the Ladakh region, including two brothers and a 10 year old boy, sustained injuries after the Xylo vehicle they were travelling in crashed into an electric pole at Hain Kangan in central Kashmir's Ganderbal district on Friday.
Officials said the vehicle, bearing registration number JK10/5974, reportedly went out of the driver's control before ramming into the electric pole, injuring all five occupants.
The injured have been identified as Asghar Ali, son of Mohammad Hussain Ali, a resident of Kargil, who was driving the vehicle, Hussain Asqari, son of Ghulam Hussain, a resident of Leh, brothers Junaid Iqbal and Liaqat Ali, sons of Ghulam Abbas from Leh, and 10 year old Mohammad Danish, son of Abdul Bari, also from Leh.
All the injured were first shifted to Sub District Hospital Kangan for treatment. Due to the seriousness of their injuries, doctors later referred them to SKIMS Soura for advanced medical care.
Police have registered the case and started an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the accident.
