Poonch, July 20: At least seven people were killed after a flash flood and rain-triggered landslide struck the Loran Domila Dhook area of Poonch district on Monday, officials said.

According to officials, a residential house was buried under debris after a landslide, triggered by incessant rainfall, struck the area. All seven occupants trapped inside the house lost their lives.

Police, along with rescue teams, rushed to the site and launched a rescue operation. The bodies of all the victims were recovered from the debris.

"Police are on the spot, and further details are being ascertained," an official said.

The tragedy comes amid widespread devastation caused by heavy rainfall and flash floods across Poonch and Rajouri districts over the past 24 hours. The adverse weather has claimed several lives, disrupted normal life, and caused extensive damage to public infrastructure and private property.

Rescue and relief operations are underway in the affected areas, with authorities continuing to assess the extent of the damage and assist affected residents.
