Flood Alert 2026 In Jammu & Kashmir

A significant wet spell is expected to affect Jammu & Kashmir over the next 48–72 hours, with widespread rainfall forecast across the region.

Heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is likely in most parts of J&K during the next 72 hours, with the greatest impact anticipated in the Jammu region and South Kashmir. Central and North Kashmir are also expected to receive spells of heavy rain.

The prevailing weather conditions could trigger flash floods, localized flooding, waterlogging, and overflowing streams and rivers in vulnerable areas. There is also a possibility of cloudbursts, landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones, particularly in hilly and mountainous regions.

Residents are advised to remain vigilant, avoid non-essential travel to flood- and landslide-prone areas, and strictly follow official weather advisories until conditions improve.
