Authorities on Saturday demolished the outer wall of former deputy commissioner of Budgam Renzu Shah near the Srinagar Airport.
A senior police official said that a team of the Revenue Department led a demolition drive to reclaim state land, measuring around 10 marlas from the “encroacher” who served as a bureaucrat including as director of information department.
“The bulldozer targeted the outer wall and the main gate of the former bureaucrat was also demolished in Friends enclave, near the airport as part of the government’s demolition drive,” he said.
Officials said Renzu Shah’s Humhama home was allegedly registered in his wife’s name. Shah has served as DC Budgam, Director Department of Information and is currently serving as Chairman Jamaat-e-Aitqaad International.
Authorities said that the main target of the anti-encroachment drive was to bring down “high-profile land grabbers”.
