Srinagar, Jan 6:Authorities on Tuesday issued an advisory for air travellers, recommending that passengers book flights scheduled after 10 AM to reduce the risk of cancellations and delays caused by dense fog affecting several north Indian sectors.

Officials said that airports in Delhi, Jammu, and Srinagar have been experiencing frequent disruptions in early morning operations due to persistent fog during the winter season. Poor visibility has often resulted in delays, diversions, and cancellations, especially during the first half of the day.
They added that fog conditions generally improve by late morning, with visibility stabilizing after 10 AM, enabling smoother flight operations. Passengers have therefore been advised to prefer post-10 AM flights to avoid inconvenience.
Travellers were also urged to regularly check flight status with airlines and stay in touch with airport authorities for real-time updates before proceeding to airports. Officials noted that while airlines are making necessary operational adjustments, dense fog continues to pose a major challenge during peak winter months.
The advisory aims to minimize passenger hardship as foggy conditions persistently impact air connectivity across the region.
