Anantnag, August 19: Four people were injured after a Xylo vehicle met with an accident near Sinthan Top in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday, officials said. No fatalities were reported.

Officials said the accident occurred around 2–3 kilometres below Sinthan Top, within the jurisdiction of Police Station Larnoo.

The vehicle, bearing registration number JK03G-7299, was travelling from SKIMS Soura towards Kishtwar while carrying a dead body when the driver reportedly lost control, causing the vehicle to skid off the road.

Five people were travelling in the vehicle, four of whom sustained injuries. They were shifted to a hospital for medical treatment.

A police team and ambulance were immediately dispatched from Larnoo to the accident site to assist in the rescue and evacuation operation.

Earlier reports suggesting a fatality in the accident have been corrected.
