G-20 in Kashmir: A Hope of New Dawn in State’s Economy

It will exhibit Lalla Wakh and Nunda-Rishi Wakh to exhibit the secular culture of the region. I hope it will present Habba Khatoon and Arnimal through local music and dance to showcase communion instead of confrontation

The Summit of the world’s twenty significant economies, G-20, in our country is an honor. Forty years ago, our country hosted NAM (Non-Alligned Movement) and the Common Wealth Summits. The G-20 presidency is an opportunity to present the diversity of India to the outside world.

The G-20 group is the world’s most powerful economic force, comprising 19 countries and the European Union (EU). The Group’s principal is to improve the global economy and financial cooperation. The countries constituting G-20 accounting 85% of global GDP, 75%of global trade and about two-thirds of the world’s population.
Hosting G-20 Summit is a manifold beneficial maneuver. The Powerful Economic Force, G-20, has acknowledged that terrorism affects the global economy. Since our country is the worst hit by terrorism launched and sponsored by Pakistan, it is the opportunity to make the powers feel the security worry and the hurdles in our economy thrown in the way of our economy by terrorism.
Hosting G-20 as president for 2023, our country will add hugely to its international recognition. G-20, a bigger stage, will offer a bigger image. A bigger identity gives an influential voice: the voice that will impact decisions. It will open doors for new opportunities to expand trade and investment relationships. Expansion in trade and investment relationships is vivid indicators of economic growth. Besides the member countries of the G-20, our country will have an opportunity to grow relationships with other countries. It will help in building trust and cooperation. The more we connect to the world, we draw benefits. No doubt, such relationships and collaborations fetch responsibilities and challenges. But these things also help a country to grow geopolitically.
Hosting G-20 in Kashmir is advantageous. The terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir has put the region politically and economically under a deadlock. Therefore, G-20’s presence will push the people to move ahead.
The G 20 summit, a representation of Europe and America plus other economic giants such as Saudi Arabia and China, the potent economic force, is a high profile event, with its international media attraction around the world, will endue Jammu and Kashmir with a platform to exhibit its tourism industry and handicrafts.
G-20 in Kashmir is an opportunity to showcase the region as a top tourist destination. It will fetch considerable attention from foreign and domestic tourists. But what is earnestly needed is to present the region's natural beauty, cultural heritage and unique handicrafts. In addition to it, G-20 can expedite partnerships and collaborations between Kashmiri handicraft producers and international buyers. It will surely increase the demand for handicrafts in the national and international markets and refuel the local economy, which has seen a harsh blow during the last three decades.
Moreover, the presence of the G-20 in Kashmir will drive a substantial number of delegates and tourists to the terrorist-bitten region. It will enhance opportunities for the locals to get associated with entrepreneurs at national and international levels. The association will help in creating a network. It will boost tourism and handicraft indeed.
Requirements such as hotels, restaurants, and transportation facilities for the G-20 summit will bring in opportunities for local businesses. The summit of the G-20 in Jammu and Kashmir will boost tourism and handicraft industries. Therefore it will bring opportunities for job creation and reduce the intensity of the employment crisis.
We expect our local govt. to put every possible effort to cash the opportunities the G-20 summit brings in. It will present the region’s captivating natural beauty in a natural way and rich cultural Ganga-human heritage in which Mandir and Masjid are constructed side by side. It will exhibit Lalla Wakh and Nunda-Rishi Wakh to exhibit the secular culture of the region. I hope it will present Habba Khatoon and Arnimal through local music and dance to showcase communion instead of confrontation.
We strongly hope that our local government will display that all wounds [ still bleed] inflicted upon the region’s people during the last thirty years by Pakistan. It will unveil the ugly face of terrorism that took thousands of lives and burnt assets worth trillions. It will present widows' and orphans' unhealing wounds left behind by the horror of terrorism.
