GMC Anantnag recruitment results delayed

June 12, 2026 | Shugufta Rashid

Anantnag, June 11: The delay in the declaration of results for faculty posts advertised by Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag in September 2025 has triggered concern and frustration among candidates, with many questioning the prolonged silence from the authorities even after nearly 10 months have passed since the notification was issued.

The posts were advertised to fill available faculty vacancies, and a large number of candidates had applied by paying the prescribed application fee. However, despite the completion of the application process last year, the selection process has not been concluded and no official result has been announced so far.
Several aspirants allege that the delay has not only caused uncertainty about their career prospects but has also raised questions regarding the intent behind the recruitment process itself. “If there was no intention to complete the selection process in time, why were the posts advertised and fees collected from candidates,” said a candidate, expressing disappointment over the prolonged delay.
The issue has gained further attention as GMC Baramulla, which had also advertised faculty posts around the same period, reportedly completed its recruitment process in a timely manner and issued selection lists without significant delay. This contrast has intensified concerns among GMC Anantnag applicants, who are now demanding transparency and uniformity in recruitment procedures across medical colleges in the Union Territory.
Candidates and stakeholders are seeking clarification on the reasons behind the delay, including whether administrative bottlenecks, procedural issues, or other formalities are responsible for the stalled process. Many argue that prolonged recruitment delays in critical healthcare institutions ultimately affect academic functioning and patient care services as well.
Meanwhile, aspirants have urged the concerned authorities to expedite the selection process and publish the results without further delay. They have also called for a clear explanation regarding the timeline and status of the recruitment process to restore confidence among applicants.
So far, no official statement has been issued by GMC Anantnag regarding the reasons for the delay or the expected timeline for the release of results, leaving candidates in continued uncertainty. The matter is expected to draw further attention if clarity is not provided soon by the concerned administration.
