Lekhapani, Oct 24: Lieutenant General Abhijit S. Pendharkar, AVSM, YSM, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Spear Corps, visited the Sector Headquarters of Assam Rifles at Lekhapani to assess operational readiness and ongoing counter-insurgency measures in South Arunachal Pradesh.

During the visit, Lt Gen Pendharkar interacted with officers and troops, reviewing ground-level operations, deployment strategies, and the overall effectiveness of security arrangements. The exercise aimed to ensure that personnel are fully prepared to address emerging challenges in the region and maintain peace and stability along sensitive areas.
The GOC commended the Assam Rifles personnel for their vigilance, dedication, and professionalism in conducting counter-insurgency operations and maintaining operational excellence under challenging terrain and weather conditions. He also emphasized the importance of coordination with local authorities and intelligence agencies to enhance situational awareness and operational efficiency.
Officials stated that such high-level inspections are crucial to identifying gaps, improving preparedness, and ensuring that forces remain mission-ready while safeguarding local communities in South Arunachal Pradesh.
