GoC Spear Corps reviews border security in Mizoram

Mizoram, June 25: The General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Spear Corps visited an Assam Rifles formation in Mizoram to assess operational preparedness and review the prevailing security situation along the Indo-Myanmar border.

During the visit, the GOC was briefed on key aspects of border defence mechanisms, including surveillance systems, operational deployments and coordination measures aimed at securing the sensitive frontier. Officials also highlighted recent operational achievements of the formation in counter-insurgency and border management duties.
The briefing further included details on the recovery of warlike stores and ongoing anti-narcotics operations, reflecting sustained efforts to curb illegal cross-border activities in the region.
The GOC also reviewed civic action programmes being undertaken by the Assam Rifles, which focus on community engagement, infrastructure support and developmental initiatives aimed at strengthening trust and stability in border areas.
The visit underlined the continued emphasis on maintaining high operational readiness and enhancing coordination among security forces deployed along the Indo-Myanmar border.
