Itanagar , Dec 16: The Hon’ble Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lt Gen Kaiwalya Trivikram Parnaik, PVSM, UYSM, YSM (Retd), conferred the prestigious Governor’s Citation upon the Miao Battalion of Assam Rifles at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar, in a ceremony held on 16 December 2026.

The award recognises the battalion’s exemplary service, operational excellence, and steadfast dedication to maintaining peace and security in the region’s challenging terrains. The Miao Battalion has consistently demonstrated professionalism, courage, and commitment while carrying out critical security operations in Arunachal Pradesh.
Apart from its operational achievements, the battalion has made significant contributions to community welfare through civic action and humanitarian assistance initiatives. These efforts include health camps, educational support, disaster relief, and infrastructure development in remote areas, strengthening bonds with local communities.
Addressing the occasion, the Governor commended the personnel for their professionalism, resilience, and dedication to both national security and social development. He emphasised that such recognition not only honours past achievements but also inspires continued excellence in service.
The ceremony was attended by senior Assam Rifles officers, civil dignitaries, and members of the local community, highlighting the collaborative spirit between security forces and residents in fostering peace, development, and social harmony in Arunachal Pradesh.
