Govt asks employees not to leave Ladakh till replacements assume charge

December 07, 2021 | BK News Service

The Lt Governor administration has asked the government employees not to leave Ladakh UT till their replacements assume charge.
According to a circular issued by Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, Commissioner/ Secretary to the Government, “In terms of the provisions of Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019, the apportionment of manpower has been finalized/notified vide Government Order No. 1212-JK(GAD) of 2021 dated 15.11.2021. Besides, the employees of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir having a mature stay in Ladakh are being repatriated and simultaneously, suitable replacements are being posted in Ladakh.”
It has, however, come to the notice of the government that the employees of Jammu and Kashmir being repatriated from Union Territory of Ladakh are leaving their station(s)/office(s) without being properly relieved and prior to joining of their substitutes, which has caused administrative inconvenience in the Union Territory.
Accordingly, all Administrative Secretaries/ HoDs/ Cadre Controlling authorities have been directed that employees being deputed to Union Territory of Ladakh, should be relieved immediately from their stations/offices with clear directions to report in the General Administration Department, Union Territory of Ladakh for further posting.
“The employees being repatriated from Union territory of Ladakh shall follow proper procedure of being relieved by the concerned authority and should not leave their office(s)/ post(s) till their replacement(s) assume charge of the office. Such employees shall not be allowed to join in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir unless a proper relieving order issued by a competent authority in the Union territory of Ladakh is produced,” added the circular.
