Srinagar, Aug 26: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has formally ordered that the suspension of an In-charge Executive Engineer arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau in March this year will be treated as effective from the date of his arrest.

According to a government order, Er. Manzoor Ahmad Dar, In-charge Executive Engineer on deputation to PHE Mechanical Division, South Awantipora, was arrested by ACB Srinagar on March 28, 2026, in connection with FIR No. 02/2026 registered at Police Station ACB Anantnag.

Following his arrest, the Jal Shakti Department placed Dar under suspension through Government Order No. 55-JK(JSD) of 2026 dated April 7, 2026.

The government has now exercised powers under Rule 31 of the J&K Civil Services (Classification, Control & Appeal) Rules, 1956, and ordered that his suspension will be deemed to have commenced from March 28, the date of his arrest.

During the suspension period, Dar will remain attached to the office of the Chief Engineer, M&HD Kashmir.

The order states that he will receive a subsistence allowance equivalent to 50 percent, comprising half pay and half dearness allowance, in accordance with Article 108-A of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Service Regulations, 1956.

The allowance will be drawn against an equivalent or higher post available with the Chief Engineer, M&HD Kashmir, as prescribed under the applicable rules.

The formal order has been issued by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir as part of the administrative action following the officer’s arrest in the corruption case.
