Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday said that the government remains resolute in working towards restoration of statehood.
In his budget speech, Omar told the Legislative Assembly that restoration of full statehood to J&K is a deeply cherished aspiration of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“The restoration of full statehood is a deeply cherished aspiration of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, and our Government remains resolute in working towards its fulfilment,” he said.
Referring to panchayats and Urban Local Bodies, CM said the government is committed to holding elections to local bodies.
“My government is committed to strengthening grassroots democracy by empowering Panchayati Raj Institutions and Urban Local Bodies, which play a crucial role in local governance and development. Our Government is committed to holding elections to these bodies, reinforcing our commitment to accountable, inclusive, and decentralized governance for the holistic development of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
