
Jammu, Feb 11: The government on Wednesday announced a comprehensive cancer control strategy in collaboration with NITI Aayog and ICMR, focusing on infrastructure development, capacity building and strategic partnerships.
Health Minister Sakina Itoo told the Assembly that major hospital expansion projects are underway across the UT, alongside strengthening emergency services with the addition of 44 Advanced Life Support ambulances.
She highlighted preventive measures including a cervical cancer vaccination drive for girls aged 9–15 years and stressed that health, education and social welfare remain core priorities despite financial constraints.
