Srinagar, Oct 31: The disgruntled National Conference leader and six time MLA Mubarak Gul has said he will reveal details about developments within the party at a press conference on November 4.
Gul, who is very angry after being not included in the cabinet, said he had so far maintained silence but would disclose everything about the developments within the party when he addresses the media.
Gul was responding to a question about the party leadership’s decision to retain Ali Mohammad Sagar as General Secretary despite his appointment to the post earlier this week.
On October 27, NC president Farooq Abdullah appointed Gul as General Secretary after Sagar was inducted into the Omar -led Council of Ministers.
However, on October 30, the party issued a fresh order directing Sagar to continue as General Secretary until further orders, raising questions over Gul’s appointment.
The developments come amid reported discontent within the ruling party following the recent Cabinet expansion, which left several senior legislators out of the government.
Gul’s November 4 press conference is expected to shed light on the controversy surrounding the party’s organisational leadership and the ongoing developments within the NC.
Gul’s supporters have been holding regular protests since Tuesday to press the party leadership to include the six-time MLA in the cabinet.
Gul also attended the closed door meeting of 20-disgruntled party MLAs at the residence of party MLA in Srinagar yesterday.
