Kakching, Oct 4: In a significant step towards supporting addiction recovery and promoting mental well-being, the Assam Rifles conducted an interactive awareness session at the Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts, Pallel, in Kakching district on Saturday.
The session, led by the Chief Medical Officer of Assam Rifles, brought together 22 patients and 15 personnel in an open and empathetic dialogue aimed at promoting resilience, fostering emotional healing, and encouraging a positive approach to recovery.
During the session, participants discussed the challenges of addiction, coping mechanisms, and the importance of community support in overcoming substance dependence. The medical team shared valuable insights into the psychological and physiological aspects of addiction, highlighting the significance of early intervention, counseling, and continuous support systems.
The programme also emphasised the role of family involvement, peer support, and rehabilitation services in helping individuals reintegrate into society and lead productive lives.
Officials from Assam Rifles said such initiatives are part of a broader outreach strategy to address substance abuse, reduce stigma, and build a healthier, more resilient youth community. They reiterated the organisation’s commitment to supporting vulnerable sections of society and working collaboratively with local institutions to combat drug abuse.
Patients and staff at the centre appreciated the effort, describing the session as motivational and transformative, and expressed hope for more such engagements in the future.
