Security forces on Friday busted a sophisticated underground hideout in the Pehlipora area of Dachigam forests but the terrorists managed to escape before the raid, triggering an ongoing search operation.
Sources said security forces received intelligence inputs hinting at terrorist movement in the upper reaches of Pehlipora. The Special Operations Group (SOG) Srinagar and 50 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and paramilitary CRPF personnel launched a search operation to track down the terrorists.
“During the search operation, security forces uncovered a bunker-type hideout stocked with logistics,” they said.
They, however, said terrorists had already escaped from the hide-out.
“The joint search operation is going on and there has been no contact with the hiding terrorists,” sources said.
They said further troops have been rushed to the area to tighten the siege.
