New Delhi, Nov 19: The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) and Assam Rifles (AR) have launched a major collaborative initiative to modernise and streamline the selection process for Assam Rifles personnel aspiring to join the officer cadre.

For the first time, the Coast Guard Selection Board (CGSB) conducted the Holistic Nature Test, covering both the Preliminary and Final phases of the Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) for AR candidates. This marks a shift toward a transparent, scientific, and merit-based assessment system.
Officials said the initiative strengthens inter-force cooperation and reflects growing synergy between the two organisations. The new testing framework aims to ensure that only the most capable, professionally competent candidates make it to the officer ranks.
Both forces described the collaboration as a step toward enhanced jointmanship, operational readiness, and professional excellence, reinforcing their shared commitment to national service.
