IFF Season 2026: 50 Kashmiris honoured as ‘Icons of Kashmir’

Srinagar, Sep 13: The Incentive Foster Foundation (IFF) organised “Icons of Kashmir – Season 2026” at the All India Radio (Akashvani) Auditorium, Srinagar, celebrating individuals from diverse fields whose contributions have made a meaningful impact on society and the Valley.

Sponsored by J&K Bank and Noonley, the initiative honoured 50 individuals as Icons of Kashmir, recognising achievements spanning education, research, social service, journalism, innovation, healthcare, agriculture, entrepreneurship, heritage preservation and other fields.
The event was graced by Dr. Muqbil Burhan, Chairperson, IIM Jammu, as the Chief Guest, while Azeeta Qureshi (JKAS), Under Secretary, LG Grievance Cell, attended as the Special Guest.
Among the distinguished invitees were Sheikh Gh Hassan (JKPS), Superintendent of Police; Jahangir Ahmed Giri (JKAS), SDM Khansahib, Budgam; and Prof. (Dr.) Fayaz Ahmad Nika, former Dean and Registrar, Central University of Kashmir.
Dr. Suleiman Saleh Suleiman, President, IFF Nigeria, participated as the International Delegate.
Speaking on the occasion, Junaid ul Islam, Founder & CEO, IFF, said the initiative seeks to bring deserving stories of contribution into the spotlight.
“Icons of Kashmir is more than an award ceremony; it is a vision to build a culture where contributions are recognised and inspiring journeys are celebrated.”
Yashinara Hussain, Secretary, IFF, said the initiative was aimed at identifying and honouring people who had gone beyond their professional roles to create a wider social impact.
“Through Icons of Kashmir, we set out on a journey to identify and honour individuals who have gone beyond their professions—who have created an impact, inspired others and contributed meaningfully to the society and the Valley we call home.”
The Foundation expressed gratitude to the awardees, guests, sponsors, volunteers, media fraternity, IFF Core Management Team and all those associated with the successful conduct of the event.
With Season 2026 marking another milestone, IFF said it plans to continue the initiative annually, creating new chapters of Icons of Kashmir while recognising inspiring individuals and preserving stories of contribution for future generations.
