
Itanagar, Mar 10: SpearheadDivision under #SpearCorps recently facilitated a field visit for Indian Foreign Service (IFS) Officer Trainees to key Indian Army forward posts in Arunachal Pradesh, including Likabali, Aalo, and Mechuka.
During the visit, the trainees interacted closely with troops stationed in these remote frontier locations. They received first-hand exposure to the operational challenges faced in the region, including terrain navigation, logistics, and border security management. The sessions included briefings on defense preparedness, surveillance operations, and troop welfare measures in high-altitude and difficult terrains.
The programme aimed to enhance the understanding of diplomatic officers about security dynamics in sensitive border areas, equipping them with insights to complement their roles in foreign policy, defense cooperation, and international relations. Troops also shared experiences on community engagement, disaster management, and civil-military coordination, providing the trainees a comprehensive view of life at forward posts.
The IFS officers appreciated the opportunity to witness the operational realities and strategic importance of these frontier sectors, strengthening the link between India’s diplomatic and defense establishments.
