Tuensang, Jan 11: Inspector General Assam Rifles (North), Major General Manish Kumar, SM, visited Tuensang district of Nagaland on January 9, 2026, to review the operational preparedness and security posture of Assam Rifles units deployed in the region. During the visit, the Inspector General interacted with officers and troops on the ground and conducted a comprehensive assessment of their operational readiness, border management measures, and counter-insurgency responsibilities in the strategically sensitive area. He reaffirmed the force’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation’s easternmost frontiers and ensuring peace and stability in the region. Major General Manish Kumar commended the Assam Rifles personnel for their professionalism, discipline, and dedication, particularly in protecting the local population from the influence and activities of insurgent groups. He acknowledged the challenges posed by difficult terrain and remote conditions, and praised the troops for carrying out their duties with resilience and a strong sense of service.

The Inspector General also emphasised the importance of maintaining high levels of motivation, alertness, and vigilance, urging personnel to continue fostering trust and cooperation with local communities.
