Srinagar, Sep 27: FICCI FLO Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh organised an evening of Sufi music at the SKICC Cottage Lawns in Srinagar, bringing renowned Nizami Brothers to the stage under the theme “Where Music Meets Purpose.”
Held on September 26, the programme was dedicated to supporting the education of children of J&K Police martyrs and recognising the sacrifices made by police personnel in the service of the people.
Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Sujit Kumar, IPS, attended the event as the chief guest.
As part of the initiative, FICCI FLO JKL handed over a cheque worth Rs 5 lakh to support the education of children of police martyrs.
FICCI FLO JKL Chairperson Varsha Bansal said the programme sought to use music as a means of bringing people together while extending support to families of police personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty.
Former chapter chairpersons Ritu Singh, Varuna Anand, Ruchika Gupta and Aarti Chowdhary attended the event. Senior Vice Chairperson Rupika Sahai, Vice Chairperson Sona Mehta and Joint Treasurer Tanisha Pallan, along with members of the Executive Committee, were also present.
Representatives from the police and civil administration, business community and civil society also attended the gathering.
The Nizami Brothers delivered Sufi performances that received an enthusiastic response from the audience, celebrating Kashmir’s cultural and musical traditions. The picturesque Cottage Lawns overlooking Dal Lake added to the setting.
The event also concluded FICCI FLO JKL’s first women-led electric vehicle rally from Jammu to Srinagar. The initiative aimed to promote sustainable tourism, electric mobility and responsible travel while showcasing the region’s tourism potential.
