Infiltration foiled in Nowshera sector, terrorist killed: Army

Jammu, March 10: A terrorist was killed after the army foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control in the Nowshera sector of Rajouri district on Tuesday.

According to the Army's White Knight Corps, the movement of two terrorists was detected in the Jhangar area of Nowshera along the Line of Control (LoC) at around 3 pm today after credible intelligence inputs.
“The armymen engaged the infiltrators, triggering an exchange of fire. During the encounter, one terrorist was killed, it said.
The Army said the infiltration attempt was foiled and the movement was effectively checked along the LoC.
Security forces have launched a search operation in the area to trace the second terrorist who is believed to be hiding nearby.
Officials said troops have been redeployed in the sector and surveillance has been intensified with the help of ground and aerial monitoring to prevent any further infiltration attempts.
The Army said a heightened alert continues in the sector as security forces maintain vigil along the border.
