
The Department of Youth Services and Sports Kathua today organized a grand inaugural ceremony to kick off the Inter-District Division Level Kho-Kho Tournament for All Age Group Girls here at the Sports Stadium.
The event commenced with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship spirit, bringing together teams from across the districts of the Jammu Division to compete for top honours.
Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Surinder Mohan Sharma was the Chief Guest, while District Project Officer, Kavita Kumar was the Guest of Honour.
Declaring the tournament open, the ADDC extended best wishes to all participating teams and encouraged them to play the game with full dedication and fair spirit. He remarked that “a sportsperson is exceptionally different from others because sports build both physical strength and mental resilience,” adding that “winning or losing doesn’t matter, what matters is to play the game well and with true spirit.”
Earlier, District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Sunil Singh Sambyal, welcomed the guests, participants and officials. He briefed about the achievements and ongoing initiatives of the department aimed at promoting sports culture and nurturing young talent across the district.
The tournament will witness spirited matches over the coming days, culminating in a grand finale where the best-performing teams will be felicitated.
