Chandel, April 27: Assam Rifles under Spear Corps organised the Inter-Village Sports Meet 2026 in Chandel district of Manipur, bringing together participants from ten border villages in a vibrant display of sportsmanship, unity, and community engagement.

The event featured competitive football and volleyball tournaments for both men and women, aimed at promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and healthy interaction among youth from remote border areas. The sports meet witnessed enthusiastic participation and strong local support, reflecting the growing role of sports in community development and youth engagement in the region.
In the football category, Team Sehlon emerged victorious after a spirited competition, showcasing skill, coordination, and determination throughout the tournament. The same team also secured the women’s volleyball title, marking a strong overall performance in the event.
In the men’s volleyball competition, Team Joupi delivered an impressive performance to clinch the title after a closely contested final match. The games were played in a competitive yet friendly atmosphere, with teams demonstrating high levels of discipline and sportsmanship.
The Inter-Village Sports Meet served as a platform to strengthen bonds between neighbouring villages and encourage constructive engagement among the youth. It also aimed to channelise energy towards positive activities and reinforce the importance of fitness and teamwork.
