
The Centre for Career Counselling & Placements (CCCP), Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST), under the aegis of the office of Dean Outreach, organized the BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research Centre) Training School Outreach Programme titled ‘Career Pathways in the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE)’ for the students of the School of Engineering & Technology (SOET) and the School of Sciences.
During the program, Dr. Sourab Sarkar, Scientific Officer–F, BARC, and Dr. Bala Prasad, Scientific Officer–G, BARC, discussed various career and academic opportunities available for students within DAE. He elaborated on the Recruitment Schemes in the BARC Training School, the BARC Doctoral Programme, and opportunities for practical training projects and internships at BARC. He also shared detailed information about BRNS (Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences) and encouraged students to explore research-driven pathways in nuclear science and allied areas.
Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Ganie, Head CCCP described the initiative as a stepping stone for students and emphasized its significance in guiding young minds toward national research and scientific careers. The program was coordinated by Basharat Shafi Masoodi, Placement officer CCCP and concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Dr. Manzoor Ahmad Najar, who thanked BARC and CCCP for conducting the program and providing students with meaningful exposure to premier national scientific institutions.
