
Srinagar, Sep 16: The Jammu & Kashmir Ball Badminton Association (JKBBA) successfully conducted the Selection Trials for the J&K Sub-Junior National Ball Badminton Team for the 2026–27 season at the Sher-e-Kashmir Indoor Stadium (SKISC), Srinagar.
The trials were organized in preparation for the 45th Sub-
Junior National Ball Badminton Championship (Boys & Girls) scheduled to be held at Bhilai, from 01 Oct to 07 Oct, 2026.
The selection trials were conducted under the supervision of the J&K Sports Council. The proceedings were overseen Mr. Iqbal Ahmad, Manager, Sher-e-Kashmir Indoor Stadium, Srinagar, who attended the trials as an observer.
The Selection Committee comprised senior office bearers and technical officials of the J&K Ball Badminton Association, including Mrs. Arsheena Malik, General Secretary, J&K Ball Badminton Association and Vice President, Ball Badminton Federation of India; Mr. Mohsin Farooq, Vice President, JKBBA; Mr. Zahid Mustafa Bhat, Member, JKBBA; and Mr. Basit Khan, Coach, J&K Ball Badminton Association.
Following a comprehensive and transparent evaluation of the participating athletes, the Selection Committee shortlisted 16 Boys and 16 Girls from a pool of 20 players in each category.
The shortlisted players will now undergo a
residential coaching camp, after which the final squad comprising 10 boys and 10 girls will be selected to represent Jammu & Kashmir at the 45th Sub-Junior National Ball Badminton Championship.
The venue, dates and detailed schedule of the residential coaching camp, along with the mandatory screening tests, will be announced by the Association shortly.
The J&K Ball Badminton Association congratulated all the shortlisted players and extended its best wishes to them for the upcoming coaching camp. The Association expressed confidence that the selected athletes will work hard during the preparation phase and put up a strong performance at the national championship.
