Srinagar, Sep 3: Jammu and Kashmir Bank has approved around 1,400 posts for recruitment, paving the way for one of its biggest hiring exercises in recent years and offering a fresh employment opportunity to youth across Jammu and Kashmir.
J&K Bank Managing Director and CEO Amitava Chatterjee said the bank's Board has approved the posts and advertisements are expected to be issued in the coming weeks.
The recruitment will primarily target candidates holding J&K domicile, while around 40 posts will be available for eligible residents of Ladakh.
The proposed recruitment drive comes after a prolonged gap in large-scale hiring by the bank and at a time when employment remains a major concern for educated youth across the Union Territory.
The detailed recruitment notification is expected to specify the number and nature of posts, eligibility requirements, selection procedure and other terms for applicants.
The hiring initiative is also expected to draw significant interest among young graduates and job seekers, given J&K Bank's strong regional presence and its role as a major employer in the region.
Chatterjee said the recruitment would remain focused on providing opportunities to candidates from Jammu and Kashmir, while maintaining a separate provision for eligible candidates from Ladakh.
