Jammu, Jan 26: J&K Bank marked the 77th Republic Day with patriotic fervour across its operations. The main function was held at the Bank’s Jammu Divisional Office, where MD & CEO Amitava Chatterjee unfurled the national flag in the presence of Executive Director Sudhir Gupta, Chief General Manager Sunit Kumar, General Managers, DGMs, and senior officers, amid a large gathering of bank staff.
Addressing the gathering, Chatterjee said, “On this solemn occasion, we reaffirm our commitment to the constitutional ideals guiding India’s progress, prosperity, and self-reliance. Economic self-reliance is both a national imperative and a moral responsibility, placing people, productivity, and purpose at its core.”
He highlighted the Bank’s legacy and national vision: “For J&K Bank, this mission resonates deeply. Established to ‘serve to empower,’ the Bank has long functioned as a development partner in Jammu & Kashmir’s socio-economic transformation, promoting inclusive and sustainable growth.”
Chatterjee also emphasized the Bank’s engagement with the UT Government’s Mission YUVA, supporting entrepreneurship, self-employment, and timely credit access, transforming job-seekers into job-creators.
In addition, the Bank organized a Blood Donation and Health Screening Camp in collaboration with the Directorate of Health Services and Ummeed Foundation. Staff voluntarily donated blood, and over 100 individuals underwent health screening, with special focus on cardiac health. Chatterjee underlined the importance of such initiatives in promoting preventive healthcare and community well-being, and announced plans to expand such interventions through the Bank’s CSR program.
In Srinagar, Chief General Manager Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat unfurled the flag at the Corporate Headquarters, attended by senior officials and staff. Similar celebrations took place across divisional and zonal offices.
The Republic Day events concluded with a collective pledge to contribute meaningfully to the nation’s progress by serving the people with renewed purpose and dedication.
