
Srinagar, Mar 29: The championship is being organized by the Jammu & Kashmir Carrom Association in association with the District Srinagar Carrom Association and in collaboration with the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council, which is also sponsoring the event.
The event was declared open by members of the association in a simple inaugural function. The formal inauguration ceremony is scheduled for tomorrow at 11:30 AM, for which several distinguished guests have already consented to grace the occasion.
Around 365 players from across various districts of Jammu & Kashmir are participating in the championship, representing different schools, colleges, and institutions from across the Union Territory.
The competitions are being held in four categories — Cadet, Sub-Junior, Junior, and Senior — for both boys and girls, men and women, showcasing talent across all age groups in the sport of Carrom.
Prominent office bearers present on the occasion included Mudasir Khan (General Secretary), Arif Sultan (Treasurer), Sheikh Saqib (Joint Secretary), and Adfar Mehraj (Vice President) of the Jammu & Kashmir Carrom Association, along with officials from the J&K Sports Council and other affiliated district associations.
The organizers expressed satisfaction over the enthusiastic participation and reiterated their commitment to promoting the sport at both district and UT levels by providing a strong competitive platform for players.
