J&K Food & Agro Fest 2026 concludes showcasing local innovation

Srinagar, Mar 25: The two-day Jammu & Kashmir Food & Agro Fest 2026 along with the International Buyer–Seller Meet, organised by the Jammu & Kashmir Trade Promotion Organisation (JKTPO), concluded today at SKICC Srinagar amid an impressive display of innovation, entrepreneurship and global business engagement.

Held on March 24–25, the mega event witnessed participation from over 20 international buyers and 25 national buyers, alongside hundreds of stalls showcasing Jammu & Kashmir’s rich agro and food diversity. The fest aimed at strengthening MSMEs, empowering farmers and connecting local producers with global markets.
Among the diverse exhibitors, Hilo Makahbaz emerged as a standout brand, drawing significant attention for its innovation in the bakery sector. The brand has been recognised as Jammu & Kashmir’s and India’s first fortified bread brand, presenting a unique range of health-focused and innovative bakery products tailored to modern consumer needs.
The Hilo Makahbaz stall witnessed strong footfall from buyers, traders and visitors, with keen interest shown by both national and international delegates. Its participation reflects a growing shift in Kashmir’s food industry towards value-added, health-centric and market-ready products, positioning local enterprises on a competitive global platform.
Expressing his views, the owner of Hilo Makahbaz, Sofi Mohi-ud-Din, said,
“We are truly thankful to the Jammu & Kashmir Trade Promotion Organisation for organising such a prestigious International Buyer–Seller Meet. This platform has given us an opportunity to showcase our fortified bread products to a wider audience, including international buyers. The exposure, networking and learning we have gained here are invaluable. It is a proud moment for us to represent a locally developed product at such a global level and we are confident this will open new doors for expansion.”
He further added that such initiatives are instrumental in uplifting small entrepreneurs and bringing local innovations into the national and international spotlight.
Sofi Mohi-ud-Din also expressed sincere gratitude to the leadership and officials for their unwavering support towards MSMEs and entrepreneurship in Jammu & Kashmir.
He specifically thanked J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha; Chief Minister Omar Abdullah; Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary; Commissioner Secretary, Industries & Commerce Department and Managing Director, JKTPO, for their visionary leadership and continuous efforts in organising such impactful platforms.
He noted that such initiatives are playing a vital role in promoting local talent, encouraging innovation and enabling indigenous products to access national and international markets.
