Srinagar, Jan 21: Aspirants of the Jammu and Kashmir Combined Competitive Services (Judiciary) Examination on Monday held a silent protest in Srinagar demanding transparency in the evaluation of Mains examination papers and the timely declaration of results. The Jammu and Kashmir KCS (Judiciary) examination has long been considered one of the most prestigious and competitive recruitment processes in the Union Territory. Conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir public service commission (JKPSC), the examination is held to recruit Civil Judges for the judiciary. Over the years, the exam has attracted hundreds of law graduates, with many spending years in preparation. However, in previous recruitment cycles as well, aspirants have raised concerns over delays in result declaration and lack of clarity in the evaluation process .The recent protest was organised near public spaces close to JKPSC offices, with candidates from different districts participating. Many aspirants said they have been waiting for months since the completion of the Mains examination, which has caused stress and uncertainty about their future. Carrying placards reading “Fair Evaluation Now,” “Transparency in Answer Sheets,” and “Release Results on Time,” the aspirants maintained complete silence throughout the demonstration. The calm and disciplined protest highlighted their demand for accountability without disrupting public order. Several participants said they were not asking for any undue favour but only a fair, transparent assessment of their answer sheets and a clear timeline for the results. They appealed to the authorities to take prompt steps to restore confidence in the recruitment process. The protestors described the demonstration as a silent yet strong appeal to the concerned authorities, expressing hope that their long-pending concerns would be addressed at the earliest.
