The 28-day long budget session will commence with the address of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on March 3.
The Legislative Assembly Secretariat announced the provisional calendar for the second session of the Union Territory’s Legislative Assembly, set to begin on March 3.
The session, extending through March and April, will feature key legislative activities, budget discussions, and holidays marking cultural observances.
The session will commence with the Lieutenant Governor’s Address on March 3, followed by discussions on the Motion of Thanks from March 4 to 6, concluding with a reply on March 6.
On March 7, CM Omar Abdullah will present budget in the Assembly.
General discussions on the budget will take place from March 8 to 11, with the government responding on March 11. From March 12 to 25, the session will focus on scrutinizing Demands for Grants, with holidays for Holi on March 14 and Navroz on March 21.
On March 25, the Appropriation Bills to authorize expenditures will be introduced. The session will resume in April with Private Members’ Resolutions and Bills scheduled for April 7 to 9, followed by a holiday for Mahavir Jayanti on April 10. The session will conclude with government business on April 11.
