A volleyball tournament was organized at Battalion Headquarters, JKAP 8th Bn. Miran Sahib Jammu under Civic Action Programme-2025 of J&K Police. The tournament commenced w.e.f 24.10.2025 and concluded on 03.11.2025. The event was held under the supervision of Sh. Suram Singh-JKPS (SSP) Commandant JKAP 8th Bn.

The tournament aimed to promote sportsmanship and discipline among the youth and to strengthen the bond between police and the local community. As many as (14) teams of different schools and Youth Volley Ball Clubs of adjoining area of Miran Sahib Jammu participated in the said event showcasing their talent, emphasized the importance of sports in character building and in keeping the youth away from social evils. Sh. Suram Singh, JKPS (SSP) Commandant JKAP-8th Bn encouraged the participants for their active engagement in such constructive activities and assured that the Police Department will continue to organize similar events in the future as well, under Civic Action Programme.

The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony in which both winner and runner-up teams were felicitated with trophies, medals , certificates , uniforms and track-suits by the chief organizer (Sh. Suram Singh,JKPS-SSP) of the tournament and by other GOs’ of the Bn, namely Sh. Chanderjeet Singh,SSP Dy.CO, Sh. Bhupinder Singh-DySP, Sh. Chanchal Singh-DySP, Sh.Om Prakash Chib-DySP and Sh. Prabhu Dayal-DySP.
The participants and other respectable citizens appreciated the efforts of JKAP 8th Battalion for successful conduct of the event and for providing a platform for youth engagement through sports. The programme was conducted in a cordial and disciplined manner, reflecting the spirit of unity and cooperation between the police and the public. The chief organizer officially declared the tournament as closed @03.11.2025.
