JKAS Officer M Younis Mir passes away

Srinagar, June 12: Young Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) officer Mohammad Younis Mir passed away after a brief illness, prompting an outpouring of grief from senior political leadership and the administrative fraternity.

Mir, a 2019-batch Junior Scale JKAS officer, was serving as Assistant Director in the Handicrafts & Handloom wing of the Industries and Commerce Department at the time of his demise. Known among colleagues for his dedication and professionalism, he was considered a promising young officer in the administrative services of the Union Territory.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed profound sorrow over his passing, extending condolences to the bereaved family, relatives, friends, and colleagues. He prayed for strength to the family to bear the irreparable loss and for eternal peace to the departed soul.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha also conveyed deep grief over the untimely demise, describing Mir as a committed officer who served the people of Jammu and Kashmir with utmost sincerity. He offered prayers for peace to the departed soul and strength to the family in this difficult hour.
The sudden demise of the young officer has left the administrative community in shock, with colleagues remembering him as a hardworking and sincere officer committed to public service.
