Srinagar, Jan 15: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Thursday forecast light rain and snow at scattered places across Jammu and Kashmir from January 16.

According to the MeT, the weather will remain generally cloudy, with light snow in higher reaches and isolated rainfall over the next few days. From January 19–20, light rain and snow are expected at scattered to fairly widespread places, with moderate snowfall possible in the higher reaches of north and central Kashmir.
From January 22–24, most parts of J&K are likely to experience light to moderate rain and snow, with Chenab Valley, Udhampur, Reasi, and south Kashmir possibly receiving moderate to heavy precipitation. By January 25–26, the weather is expected to be cloudy with light rain and snow at isolated to scattered locations.
The MeT also warned of moderate to dense fog over the plains of the Jammu region over the next two days and advised travelers to follow administrative and traffic advisories, especially during the wet spell on January 23–24.
