Journalist Naseer Ahmad passes away

Director Info, journalists, politicians condole demise

Senior journalist and former Bureau Chief of Zee News in Srinagar, Naseer Ahmad, passed away on Saturday.
Naseer, 60, was suffering from liver cancer. His Nimaz-e-Jinaza was offered after Zuhr prayers in Bemina, Srinagar.
He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
The demise has been condoled by journalists and politicians alike.
A large gathering of colleagues, friends, and admirers participated in his last rites, remembering him as a man of integrity, kindness, and unwavering support for his peers.
Brighter Kashmir editor Farooq Ahmed Wani condoled the demise of Naseer and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
He has expressed his solidarity with the bereaved family at this hour of grief.
Wani said Naseer’s contribution to journalism would always be remembered.
Former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti also condoled the demise of Naseer.
“Deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Naseer Ahmad, the senior journalist and former Bureau Chief of Zee News. His invaluable contributions to journalism will always be remembered. May Allah grant him the highest place in Jannah and provide strength to his family and loved ones during this difficult time. Ameen, ” Former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
“Deeply saddened by the passing of veteran journalist Naseer Ahmad, former Bureau Chief of Zee News in Srinagar. His contributions to journalism were invaluable and will always be remembered. May Allah grant him the highest place in Jannah and give strength to his family and loved ones in this difficult time. Ameen,” NC Chief Spokesperson Tanveer Sadiq wrote on X.
People’s Conference, while expressing their condolences said in a social media post, “Saddened to hear about the passing of Senior Journalist and former Bureau Chief of Zee News, Naseer Ahmad. Our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues. May his legacy continue to inspire future generations of journalists.”
Director Information, Nitish Rajora also expressed profound grief and shock over the demise of Bureau Chief of Kolkata TV, Naseer Ahmad, who passed away today morning after a brief illness.
In his condolence message, the Director said Naseer was a journalist of unique caliber and acumen whose contribution to journalism will be remembered for times immemorial.
He also prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and expressed sympathies with the bereaved family during this difficult time.
Meanwhile, the employees of Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) also condoled the sad demise of Naseer Ahmad.
The employees remembered the contribution of Naseer Ahmad to the Journalistic field and his association with DIPR.
The employees prayed for forbearance for the family to bear this irreparable loss.
