JTGC launches ‘Books & Golf’ initiative

September 21, 2026 | BK NEWS SERVICE

Jammu, Sep 20: The Jammu Tawi Golf Course (JTGC) Sidhra has introduced a new initiative titled “Books & Golf”, aimed at bringing together the serenity of golf and the timeless pleasure of reading.

The initiative seeks to extend the golfing experience beyond the game itself by creating a culture of reading, sharing and meaningful interaction among members of the golfing community.
As part of the initiative, JTGC is inviting its members to contribute used books from their personal collections. The books will form a shared repository that can be accessed and enjoyed by members and fellow golfers.
The proposed repository will feature books across different genres and areas of interest, providing members with an opportunity to discover something new, exchange ideas and enjoy moments of quiet reading during their time at the Golf Course.
The initiative carries the message, “Share a book. Share a thought. Enrich the experience.”
The management said that the idea is rooted in the belief that a golf course can be more than a sporting venue—it can also be a place for relaxation, conversation, learning and community building.
Through “Books & Golf”, JTGC hopes to encourage members to share books that have influenced, inspired or entertained them, allowing those books to find new readers within the golfing community.
The initiative is also in keeping with JTGC’s ethos of “Play | Relax | Belong”, with an emphasis on making the overall experience of visiting the Golf Course more enriching and memorable.
The management has appealed to members to participate wholeheartedly and contribute to the development of the shared book repository.
