Junior cricket Ch'ship continues in Kathua

Kathua, Feb 5: The Junior Cricket Championship organised by the District Administration Kathua, in collaboration with the Excise Department, continued with great enthusiasm on the second day here at the Kathua Stadium.

The tournament, part of Kathua Cricket League, aims to promote sportsmanship among youth and support Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
Two matches were played today, drawing keen interest from sports enthusiasts and local spectators.
In the first match, Lakhanpur took on Nagri. Lakhanpur won the toss and opted to bowl first, restricting Nagri to 47 runs. Lakhanpur chased the target comfortably within three overs to register a convincing victory.
The second match saw a competitive encounter between Sallan and Billawar. Batting first, Billawar posted a total of 118 runs. In reply, Sallan was bowled out for 78 runs, handing Billawar a well-earned win.
With these results, Lakhanpur and Billawar have qualified for the semifinals, scheduled to be held tomorrow.
The championship continues to generate enthusiasm among players and spectators, reinforcing the message of healthy living and youth engagement through sports.
